Just beat the ‘84 Mondavi by a hair. Fruits weren’t quite as “stewed” and the acidity was carrying everything really well. Good leather notes with a crunchy/cranberry finish. Surprise of the night for me.

Past its best- gone a little port-like in taste and smell. Can tell it was a good wine, not sure of bottle's history, so may not have been stored properly over the years. 1986 vintage opened Sept 2016.

Wow- wasn't expecting much but this was great. Pyrazine, tobacco, saddle leather. Continued opening and softening with air.
