Calleri Vineyard Negrette
Dark, lightly smokey and bbq-esque. Bitey long tannic finish. Gifted by Mark at Robin's sendoff to Florida. Enjoyed 9/4/16

Nov 6th, 2017Cassis on the nose with white pepper matched what my server wrote in the tasting notes on this unusual Negrette. It paired nicely with lamb meatballs with mint parsley aioli.

Nov 24th, 2014I've never had this varietal before. So I don't have a good reference point. Dark fruits, good structure but was lacking an x-factor for my taste buds. Worth a try though!

Apr 10th, 2021Dark with a slightest of rusty-brown edge on the deep maroon center. Hint of funk. Cooked plum fruits and fresh herbal stuff. Flavors are very ‘winey’. Apple- black berry baked dessert with a hint of chocolate mint. Tannins are tongue dry. This has some character. Fleshy. Rustic. Fun. Not sure what the standard for Negrette is, but this is an interesting bottle of unfamiliar wine.
