This is a big thick chewy Cab, almost on the jammy side. Opening up after some decanting, is expressed nice rich currant and dried cherries. The anticipated Rutherford dust was minimal, but the oak was applied with a mercifully light hand.

May 22nd, 2018A "wow" Napa Cab, this wine is full of the requisite mocha cherry tones, with the thick dusty tannins which suggest a Rutherford origin of a significant amount of the grapes. This wine paired quite well with flash-marinated steak in orange zest/rosemary sauce over caramelized asparagus, potatoes, zucchini, and bell pepper, and Italian bread with mushroom Brie on the side. Delicious!
