Really great Merlot with plenty of black/blue fruit and a lot of complex spicy, oaky aromas.

This shows how impressive Merlot can be in the right hands! This is a powerful Merlot and benefits from a bit of splash decanting if you're going to enjoy it now. It is also quite age worthy, if you have the patience. I really enjoyed how this wine continue to evolve in my glass – rich dark berry notes, plum, a touch of allspice, and wood shavings changed into blueberry and dark chocolate, with some earthiness. The fruits are juicy without being overly ripe, and the tannins are grippy, but not overwhelming. I can't think of a better way to get reacquainted with the Merlot varietal.
