I had not heard of the Lemberger varietal before visiting Yakima valley, but was pleasantly surprised by its flavors. This old vine Lemberger is dense, on the medium side of full bodied, with rich currant strawberry flavors. "Champoux" apparently means old vine Lemberger.

Jun 16th, 2020I'm not sure what's going on but the alcohol seems overly strong in this one, which was from our March club. Bottle says 14.5% and that's mostly all I taste. Supposedly it was a hit. It's decanted... so maybe I'm just the outlier that doesn't like it.
