I was wondering why I liked this wine so much, and I realized it was due to the amount of Cabernet in it: 80%. The 12% of Malbec and 8 % of Petit Verot make for a much more complex wine than a Cab. Full bodied, smooth, spicy and oaky.

The color is dark red, maybe even a bit purple, with an intense, masculine smell of black berries and cocoa. Taste is quite heavy, justified by the 14,5%, and dominated by cooked fruits. A dull aftertaste of tobacco - I can only confirm the last rating.

Dense dull old cherry color with burgundy rim. Awesome nose of malt, chocolate covered cherries, cocoa puffs cereal, and very subtle funkiness. Very long story on the palate; this is very interesting and nice. 38% fuitiness, showing chocolate covered cherries and raspberry flavors; the other 62% is the long structure of firm but ripe tannins and delicious sour cherry acidity. Obviously not a balanced bet (38 to 62 is far from 50-50) but very interesting, very tall, and quite long finish showing awesome tobacco notes. Quite dry but not at all austere. Quite masculine. Very well done! 89 pts.
