I bought this in Burgundy last year, when I found it very tight even though it was over 4 years old. I bought it to see what it would be like after a little ageing, and tonight I couldn't resist opening it. Worryingly, on opening it was a bit funky, but after 10-15 minutes it opened up to express its deep, beautiful self. An astonishing, complex, unforgettable wine, with citrus and stone fruits, well-integrated MLF aromas, and spices, getting better and better as the wine opened up. Drunk with chicken, summer squash, and leek, a perfect combination.
