This red blend is mostly Merlot, balanced out by Cab Franc and Cab Sauvignon— at 75% Merlot, in the US it could be labeled as simply a Merlot. The color is very dark ruby, medium in body, with a bit of smoky oak. The flavors are chalk, chocolate, and anise spice, with a touch of tobacco smoke to the finish.

My favorite Malthus effort to date, this blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc is bright and fruity with dark plum flavors, medium bodied with some oaky bite.

Excellent red. Wonderful notes of vanilla. This wine has shoulders. A finish of dark berries and you will like it.

Rich and smooth. Might benefit from keeping longer.

Great example of medium bodied Bordeaux from an independent winemaker. Fantastic blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Rye, dill, and cereal notes. Ready to drink in 2017. Its delicate tannins is not suitable for long ageing.

Very nice wine. I do wish I had let it sit a little longer in my cellar before opening, but still a good drink young. Definitely let it sit about an hour open before you drink it. Distinct fruit and chocolate flavors even a hint of spice. Very nice.

Delicious full bodied wine with not too much fruit; lovely oak, tobacco, and dark cherry notes. An impressive wine for the price that I can't wait to serve guests again.
