27.5 Brix at harvest, 33.8 g/L of residual sugar. Botrytis “dessert wine”. Pale white in color, excellent clarity. Peach, honey and mild notes in nose. Off dry, good acidity, light to moderate skin astringency. Not a typical after dinner wine but pretty awesome in its own right.

Actually drinking the 2013 "Noble" Estate Chardonnay, but that wasn't an option here.

It's a late harvest Chardonnay which has apparently been infected by botrytis, hence "Noble"

Opened in April, 2018.

Color was a bright lemon yellow with almost a lime colored rim. Very pretty.

Nose smelled "off" at first but improved with some air time. Still never got around to "beautiful." I think the botrytis was more of a flaw than an accent here.

Overripe pear, a touch of honey. Bitter walnut. A bit oxidized and finishes bitter.

Yea I'm just not digging this all that much. The sugar level is nice, and does have some acidity to balance. It's washing down some Stilton just fine. It's just that bitter oxidized flavor that makes me think flaw. It's a pass for me.
