Herbacious and pruney. Not what I expected but still good. 2008 was not the greatest year. On the nose it is sparse, hints of sage, mint anise and cloves. On the palate it is reserved, blackberry, prunes, and tobacco are most prevalent, with hints of black cherry. Drink em if you got em as they probably aren’t getting any better at this time.

Like I said in 2017, only now this wine is truly at its peak. Yum!!!

The 2007 vintage is probably at or near its peak. The cab dominance is overt, with mouth watering and intense cherry/red fruits and tobacco on initial palette. The tannic structure is intense still (and if you are waiting for that to soften then yeah, give it a few more years). The Merlot and Syrah definitely come on in the finish still (they were more dominant 7 or 8 years ago when the wine was new), with notes of pepper, bacon, leather, and plum peeking out as the cab notes linger. Yum yum yum!

The Tre ages so well, it really needs to lay down to come into its own. Intense cherry and tobacco on the nose. Elegant tannins, peppery edges, and full bodied red fruit are a delight for the tongue. This could have aged a few more years at least. Yum x 2!

As always, JM Cellars does not disappoint. The cab heavy blend is perfectly balanced by the merlot and syrah, and at 8 years old is just starting to hit its prime. Having it with grilled filet minon and portobellos... Freaking yum!!

Decadent dark berry fruit, spicy hints on the edge if the palette, long, silky tannic grip in the tongue. Mmmmmm....

Disjointed. Probably past it's prime.

The 2007 is drinking amazingly well. I'm glad I have another bottle to sit on a little longer.

Beautiful wine, you really taste the spiciness from the Syrah. Best if laid down at least a year past release.
