Once again, despite the name, this is not a "sweet" wine as in a dessert wine; rather it is a dry red with a splash of extra residual sugar, suitable for spicy Asian or Louisiana cuisine pairings. There are really nice cherry, blueberry, and red currant fruits, with most of the "sweet" coming forth in the finish, yet even that being balanced by a coppery tartness like that of an IPA.

Sep 3rd, 2017Yes, riight, ok. This is a red blend with a touch of residual sugar. It is not a dessert wine nor a sugary sweet wine. This is a wine to pair with spicy Asian food. Considered as such it succeeds admirably. It has thick tannic structure and delicious mocha cherry flavors but with a splash more sweetness.
