I love the Loire. This is among the simplest styles of wine to be found there, but it's still a treat, and great value. Fresh citrus, tropical notes - the grape is called melon de Bourgogne for a reason! - with just a hint of that local smoky flint and a subtle salinity on the palate. A style this simple can't score more highly than 8, but this is a v well made wine.
