Jean Sablenay
Muscadet
Not too fruity. inoffensive, easy to drink and with the merest hint of fizz

May 7th, 2015I love the Loire. This is among the simplest styles of wine to be found there, but it's still a treat, and great value. Fresh citrus, tropical notes - the grape is called melon de Bourgogne for a reason! - with just a hint of that local smoky flint and a subtle salinity on the palate. A style this simple can't score more highly than 8, but this is a v well made wine.
