Second take on this vintage, a couple of months after. I gave it some more air before tasting and it made a real difference. Now it is a fruit bomb with texture!
Cherry party on the nose with a hint of iron, earth and still a cola, bubble gum thing that I find only in this one. The palate is full and wide. Big acid backbone, cherry and cherry jam even everywhere, some good grip, a little grip toward the end, and a very long expending finish with fruits. What a delish...

I have missed this so much... Almost 7 months since I last tasted a great Beaujolais from the club of 4. I couldn't find any supplier here in Warsaw so I got in touch with my former solid online wine merchant and he accepted to deliver my order in Poland. Thevenet, mee Godard, foillard, Lapierre, village cru, côte du py, corcelette... Everything delivered to the door on the other side of Europe 😍😍😍😍
This 2017 is rather playful but lacks a bit of fruit in my opinion. Candy cane, cola sour cherry and iron on the nose. The palate is well balanced but lacks fruit and matter if I'm referring to my tastes. Solid acid backbone, close to no tannins, some grip on the side, some sour cherry here and there, some cola in retro, and a rather long finish with a bit of astringency (the close to no tannins) some cherry and an overall easy going impression. Good not great. Can't wait to taste foillard's and lapierre's take on this vintage at village cru level.
