Fantastic funky cab franc from what to me is always one of the best $20 drops money can buy. 2011 isn't as glorious as 2010 but it's different and lovely just the same. Real earthy, brambly, and foresty, with great cleansing acidity and delightful flavor concentration for price. Superbly balanced, this didn't miss a beat open 5 days. How many $100 wines could you say that about?? Like a trip through the forest to find a waterfall. Great stuff.

its chinon and a baked potato for the windy blustery ides of march, that's dinner since my boo is away and all there's to do is watch game of thrones and work harder and sleep deep dreams that you can only have when you sleep alone. I really enjoy this but lately everything tastes light and characterless. maybe I'm just not listening enough

Needed a couple hours to open... but shines when it gets there. Structured nose of blackberry, cassis, pipe smoke, tar, and green pepper. Not too funky. Bold and rich mouthfeel, with a punch of mid palate acidity partnered by fresh red cherry. Chalky tannins surround and drive a herbaceous finish. Medium weight. Drink or hold.

Good but not great Cabernet Franc from Chinon. Nose is pretty nice with good red fruit and earth, but find the palate a smidge too muddled.

Tobacco, pepper and graphite. Plate has a nice spice and red/blue fruit. Drank with a meal, and this wine needed some tine to open.

Nice cab franc on the more refined side. Not totally my style but tasty and well done no doubt. Purchased at DOC
