Negotiant bottling by Fourrier. Relatively light out of all, pretty on the nose, and airy. Dark berries and raspberries? Cool and pure, which is quite characteristic of its style and 2012 vintage. Gradually developed sweet Christmas spices. Very impressed by the friend who spent time and effort to chisel off the wax cap to prevent profiling.

#4 of my tasting pack, 2013 Jean Marie Fourrier Echezeaux. Dark ruby in color. Raspberry, leather, wet stony mineralogy and sea breeze on the nose. On the palate its firm tannin hidden behind striking acidity, evident ripe pepper. Considerably more depth than those two volnays I tasted earlier. A remarkable echezeaux especially considering this is the negociant wine of Fourrier. #winetastingnotes #burgundy #fourrier #winetasting

2012. This bottle was terrific, certainly my favorite of the four. Intensely mineral character here, full of gravel and metal shavings with a correspondingly robust construction. The tannins are gritty without being harsh, but that's the kind of texture that feels right here. The material is broad, and expansive, with all the fullness of a grand cru.
