So good. What a nose. Sopping red cherries, ripe and minty and so deep. Spice, minty foresty earth. Some paprika. So good. So unique. So Morel. Palate is ripe, juicy and loaded to the gills with sweet cherry fruit against a firm mineral background but seriously stacked with fruit. Balanced and pure. Rustic tannins, crunchy and sappy. Juicy. As Jeru the Damaja says, “Rough and rugged, shine like a gold nugget.”

Sep 1st, 2020The new Bourgogne Rouge from JJ Morel. Beautiful cherries, spice, lovely ripeness. Very inviting. Brown sugar. So good. So Morel. Palate is full of fruit, some charming rusticity, slatey tannins. Terrific amplitude and energy. So fresh. Juicy like nothing else. Long finish. Love this wine. Only two vintages. 17 and 18.
