Jean Geiler
Florimont Grand Cru Gewurztraminer
Even though I love my acidity in whites I do appreciate a nice Gewürz once in a while, especially when it's been aged.
Grand cru vineyard most famous for Gewürz and an Alsatian coop.
Grapefruit, strong honey, dried ginger, lychee, pain d'epice. Med high body, med acidity, light RS. Very long salty black liquorice aftertaste with pineapple, wood and canned lychee popping in and out in the course of drinking the bottle. Might have gone higher in the rating with more going on in the nose.

Very pleasant Gerwurztraminer. Not over-promising to the palate. Lots of floral and tropical fruits not forgetting it's renowned Lychee character. Well-balance with gentle acid.
