Jean-Claude Debeaune
Domaine de Nazis Brouilly Gamay
I have yet to experience a Beaujolais that I liked, so I looked toward Beaujolais Cru, specifically Brouilly. I've finally found bliss in the plateau of 2010. The nose was inviting and beautiful, exhibiting aromas of pomegranate syrup, decaying violet petals, and decaying rosemary leaves. The color of the wine is a beautiful garnet, just barely holding on to its purple. The pallet is well balanced, showing its complex layers of red apple skin, strawberry-rubarb compote, black tea, and a gripping finish suggesting it still is youthful. What a great effort Jean-Claude Debeaune! I now like Beaujolais. Cheers!
