Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Nice fruity nose of blueberries, cherries, red currants, wood, cloves, earth, light vegetables, vanilla, spices and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry the palate with cherries, black plums, black currants, wood, earth, vegetables, spices, graphite, bitter herbs, black tea, peppercorn, leather, tobacco and dark chocolate.
Medium finish with firm tannins and spices.
An interesting Malbec from California. Balanced with mild complexity. I liked the nose more than the palate, though. A good way to end the day with.
Needs 2 hours to open up properly and show the tannins.
This is a good food wine too, I paired it with soft and hard cheeses, fruits and crackers.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blueberries, strawberries, plums, currants, oak, vanilla, cloves, tobacco, coffee, meat, chocolates, peppercorn, spices, bell pepper, earth and vegetables.
Medium plus in finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This Californian Malbec is a nice surprise. Gentle and interesting by itself or with food. Stinky nose, but very pleasurable on the palate with a soft mouthfeel. Simple and enjoyable by itself or with food, but not fully balanced and a little bitter on the ending.
Needs 90 minutes to open up properly, but drinkable right out of the bottle.
I've had a younger vintage (2015) a few months ago, and it seems like it did need the extra bottle time.

Dry on the palate with raspberries, cherries, earth, oak, alcohol, cola, licorice, chocolates, earth, leather, light green vegetables, spices and peppercorn.
Medium finish with very fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
Right out of the bottle it drinks like a thin California red wine, drinkable but not special. After 90 minutes in a decanter, it gets more structure and some tannins.
Not fully balanced and spicy, with mild complexity.
Enjoyable by itself or with food. I paired it with a charcuterie board of Meats and cheeses.
This is not the Argentinian Malbec I'm used to, although very pleasent. I would have liked it to have more body, though.
