Visited the Jameson Distillery while in Dublin. Was an interesting experience.

This whiskey is matured in charred bourbon barrels.

Nose - banana and toffee. Palate- caramel and toasted oak.

Makes a good cocktail with fresh lime and ginger ale.

While it's super smooth, has a vanilla citrus nose, highly viscous mouth feel and honeyed warmth that initially races across your tongue - it leaves you flat. It finishes so quickly, there is no depth or lingering or evolution of flavors. It's ok, you can easily drink a lot of it but ultimately it let's you down for the price point. I won't buy it again, I'll buy the 12 year over this every time. Heck, I'll buy the standard Jameson over this...
