This is heavy and needs either another 5-10 years or a few hours in a decanter. 55/45 cabernet/merlot, but seemed more like 70/30 new world merlot/cabernet. Coffee and sour cherries with some hints of oak and vanilla.

Huge. Like really big. Needed a decant but i couldn’t bring myself to using the coffee pot! Do I need to start traveling with a decanter? 🙄
Open 3 hours. Plums, spice, major tannins. Dark as night and oh so chewy. Dense. Pleasant and hoping for further evolution tomorrow. Definitely has 90 potential.

Strawberry, currant, long, smooth finish, with structured tannin for a 60% Cabernet / 40% Merlot blend. It has some savory aspects with licorice root and bell pepper. This 2008 is great right out of the bottle.
