Sassoalloro Toscana Sangiovese

Subtle yet fresh fruit. Raspberries, slight tobacco and meatiness. Softer Sangiovese with nice acidity.

Lazy Sunday....means red fruit, lovely aromatics and silky tannins

This needs serious decanting time; it was closed for a long while despite the bottle being opened hours before serving. Quite atypical Sangiovese (unless it was still closed?); a deep, almost muddy black cherry (not a very attractive colour); vanilla, toffee, and hot cherry purée; tannic but short - acidity was present but not intrusive and would allow it to develop nicely over the next 15 years. Would be interested to see how it tastes tomorrow... Would my rating improve?

2010 Jacopo Biondi-Santi "Sassoallora" IGT Toscano - Super delicious!!! First time I've had this wine and I'm sold. Firm core, complex and balanced. Tasted from eonomatic machine, need a full bottle. Drink now or hold for 5.

Big and fruity. We paired this with a hearty african peanut stew which seems weird but worked with the saltiness.
