Dense purple red, highly extracted pigment, some sediment in suspension. Butter, purple fruit and flowers in nose, blackberry, thyme, sage, slight cigar box. Velvety blackberry texture and flavor in mouth, slightly bitter and alcoholic on finish initially. After 30 minutes, chewy tar finish emerges with moderate astringency and a touch of menthol. A serious robust wine, but that Washington State fruit flavors and herbal nose sneak through. 106 cases produced
