Seems to be a skin contact wine. Not wildly so, but has some tannins and a slightly oilier texture than much fiano. Characteristic honeyed note, but also some herbal minty tones and florals. The empty glass has big summer flowers like peony. The palate is more crisp ripe peach like the ones in the shops now. Not super ripe and juicy, but this wine unfurls with time. Quite good and expressive, but understated. There’s a plasticky waxy note too, almost like chenin. Not a very long finish, otherwise really interesting and I’ll say more tomorrow.
