Blueline Estate 36-24-36 Napa Valley Red Blend

Finally getting around to posting wines from my annual Napa trip from two weeks ago. Always goes by quick! Lots of fun new stops this year.

We returned to Hourglass after our visit in 2018 as the wines are just so enjoyable, but the tasting cave may be one of the coolest spots to enjoy a glass of wine.

We barrel sampled this two years ago, so it was a treat to taste it from bottle. Tied for my favorite of the lineup with the cab franc. Smoked meat, blueberry and blackberry jam, cinnamon and Mexican vanilla jump from the glass. Highly aromatic. Creme de cassis, ripe and rich dark fruits and nutmeg on an elixir and velvet like profile. Hedonistic.

Thanks to my boss Joel Hunter who gave me this bottle of his winery Hourglass, he is a business partner of the Hourglass winery, I work for him in Irvine, CA. The wine is velvety smooth with a balance of the cherry and currant berry flavors and the smooth tannins and fine American oak notes. Happy 4th of July to my fellow American friends 💥🦅🎆🔔🇺🇸🍷❤️🤍💙
