A profound young Shiraz from vines planted 112 years ago in Barossa and made by Chris Ringland from low yields. The “1905” has a distinct eucalyptus thread in its flavor profile, dense chewy blue and black fruit, soy, Asian spices. The Hobbs wine dinner was an unexpected treat. My business partner asked if I wanted to go to a Paul Hobbs wine dinner and I said “Hell yeah I like Dr. Crane”....turns out Hobbs is run by Greg and Allison Hobbs. An extremely cool couple who moved to the country with their kids for a simpler life in the mid 90’s. Greg is a former SWAT team officer and fireman and he has a palpable passion for his wines. This was far and away my favorite of the night.

This beauty is a monster that sings on the palate. Amazing dark berries and big gentles spices with violets and dark florals.
