I'm drawn more and more towards German Spätburgunder, as you can find very exciting Pinots for exceptional value. This one is no exception, showcasing a unique bouquet of cherry, rose blossom, and fresh mulled earth, leading to a palate full of wonderfully bitter and medicinal flavors - bitter herbs, echinacea, oregano - while being balanced out with a sweet earthy cherry Pinot-character. The finish emphasizes bitter and mineral, while remaining light and mysterious. I'm intrigued by this wine, and although it didn't strike me as an immediate favorite, it stood out and stuck in my memory. Love German Spätburgunder!
