In the glass, dark purple with rubied rim. The nose continued to evolve with air, with notes of tobacco smoke, evergreen, vanilla custard, and jammy blackberry. On the palate, this presents with a heavy mouth feel, almost cream like, with loads of blackberries and raspberries surrounded by vanilla. Blueberry jam and limestone on the finish, medium length, with some bitter tannins. This is a big Aussie shiraz that does a good job of balancing McLaren Vale fruit with Padthaway terroir. Very enjoyable.
