A few of us stopped by the wine storage facility today to “celebrate” the 4th in style...wine style. American zins and American Sparklers. Happy 4th 🇺🇸
Only my second Hartford zin...this probably won nose of the day for the zins. Plums, boysenberry and black pepper covered raspberries. Incredibly smooth on the palate...little tannic bite. Didn’t compromise the structure. Licorice and berry medley pie. Easy and agreeable.

Beautiful wine. Plum and stewed fruits, delectable spice on the finish. Enjoyed with smoked pulled chicken. Yummy stuff

Feb 25th, 2018Easily the best Zinfandel over the holidays was the deep ruby/purple '08 Hartford 'Highwire Vineyard' from the RRV. This full-bodied, well-balanced red showed concentrated floral berry, cocoa, licorice and pepper aromas. Utterly charming and velvety textured, it satisfied on every level possible. A 'tour de force'.
Easily the best Zinfandel over the holidays was the deep ruby/purple '08 Hartford 'Highwire Vineyard' from the RRV. This full-bodied, well-balanced red showed concentrated floral berry, cocoa, licorice and pepper aromas. Utterly charming and velvety textured, it satisfied on every level possible. Feb 13th, 2014Dark red colors. Sweet high red notes combined with many spices that cut though the sweetness. Very smooth texture with a nice mouthfeel. Very tannic that will last for years. Buy and hold.
