The red wine of our visit to Sonoma from the comfort of home in Santa Barbara. Spicy aromatics for a Sonoma pinot. Clear ruby color. Mostly raspberry aroma with clove and nutmeg. Moderate tannins and finish of spicy compote. Not quite jammy but more fruit than terroir. Does it show place? The flavor palate seems confused or lost. The flavors suggest a central coast pinot, was it lost in translation? Or just failed geography? Not to worry, the wine is solid and enjoyable. Maybe its the drinker who is confused? I like it.
