Brambley herbs and dark fruited, with seed bitterness. Think boysenberry. Color has good density, but watery thin on the rim of the glass. Dedicate. The palate is much more clean and fluent. Slightly astringent with structure dropping on the tongue and working its way out. Composite cork. Opened 8/19/15

Dark Ruby in color with Medium intensity and a purplish rim.
A typical Napa nose, fruity and oaky, with vanilla, oak, licorice, black currants, blackberries, sweet cherries, plums, leather, coffee, herbs, spices, eucalyptus and black pepper.
Medium bodied with medium acidity and Long Legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, blueberries, plums, cherries, raspberries, red currants, chocolates, cloves, vanilla, oak, earth, tobacco, metals, spices and peppercorn.
Medium finish with firm tannins (after one hour in a decanter) and tart cherries.
This is a very nice Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Well-balanced and drinking nicely now. As it opens up, oak and vanilla flavors diminish some, and it becomes more balanced. A Great Value at $17 for a Napa Valley Cabernet.
A little tart at the finish for my taste, but still very enjoyable, probably needs an additional year or two in the bottle to calm down.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Glassy red. Transparent. One dimensional with prickly tannins. Not fruit forward which makes it appealing at its price point.($17 specs memorial)
