Hardys
HRB Heritage Reserve Bin Riesling
The HRB ‘Heritage Reserve Bin’ range from @hardyswines is all about blending grapes from different regions - a unique and interesting concept which Thomas Hardy pioneered in 1865. As you’ll see on the label, each bottle is issued with a bin number. This was started by Tom Mayfield Hardy in the 1920s, starting at A001. The numbering system ended with D635 in the 1980s and restarted with the launch of the HRB range in 2009. Each wine released under the range receives a sequential number that will never be repeated again.
This 2016 Riesling is a blend of grapes from the cool-climate regions of the Clare Valley and Tasmania. Retailing for approx. $35.
It’s a pale banana yellow colour on the eye. Notes of fresh pear, apple, lemon and mandarin dominate the nose for me. While in the mouth it’s delicate and light with fresh lime and minerality making it wonderfully refreshing and there’s a hint of creaminess on the finish.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #sample #tcweekdaywine #tctastingnotes
