Vulcano Zweigelt Blaufrankisch Blend
A very pleasant surprise. Pitty that they used a screwcap instead of traditional cork since it clearly kept on getting better, even after 3 hours. In this pricerange cork would be a better option...

Jun 7th, 2018A blend of blaufrankisch, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and zweigelt. Musty and gamey on the nose with a hint of ink. Light with lots of spice and vanilla that I take for too much oak. It's too bad because underneath it all there is an interesting subtlety to this wine that I would love to dive into. There is earth, ripe raspberries and some fresh plum and a solid tannin follow-through. Definitely decant and let this open. But when looking for the Austrian red gem -- sadly look elsewhere. I know there are better ones!
