Heideboden Rot Red blend

Deep purple color, almost black. Bouquet is applewood bacon and forest leaves. Taste is BIG earthy oak and firewood with some tobacco, tar and leather. Not for the faint of heart, needs something hearty to accompany it—steak or beef stew? I dunno. I’m sure this is very good, but maybe I just need to accept that these Austrian reds just aren’t for me.
