The berry flavors with a hint of pepper, so drinkable. Would buy again 2010 vintage

A little zin in there is noticeable. The nose has some good barnyard, earthiness, funk going on. I feel like the Zin is too much on the palate, but I don't have a good handle on the specific tastes of petit sirah either. It'd be interesting to know the % makeup of the blend.
Long finish.
Added this on glass two: pretty good stuff. Raised the rating to about 8.0
Update: bought another couple bottles because I was impressed.

2nd bottle is different. Nose is funky, & not a good funky. Pretty terrible actually. Wet, musty basement. The palate is still there--good fruit. This is more of a good buy at this price, not an amazing buy like bottle
#1. We'll see about bottle #3...

Bottle #3 Wasn't awful like
#2, but wasn't as good as #1. I think this is what the wine is supposed to show like. Overly fruity, without the depth and good funk of #1. Less balance. Still not bad for the price. Lowering my rating to about 7.

Full bodied but smooth and balanced. Excellent with roast or steak but not too heavy for burgers or chops
