2014 Hammell Wine Alliance El Crüe Rose’. Along with SQN, the only Rose' I always decant. Three hours in the big glass vessel. Definitely not your Grand Dad's Rose'. 15.5% alcohol. Huge, full throttle style, but done with finesse. The bright red color of a red cream soda. Fresh cut flowers and strawberries on the nose. A guava-papaya-raspberry smoothie on the palate. You'll be hard-pressed to find a lengthier finish on a Rose'. I vaguely remember Mr Hammell suggesting drinking as opposed to holding, but this wine probably has some longevity based on tonight's performance. If you haven't sought out Mr Hammell's wines up to now, I strongly suggest you jump on the train before it departs the station. This guy is good. @Hammell

1st day of beach week and this is couldn't be a more symbiotic pairing. My first try with the Hammell rose' and I'm impressed. I've been impressed by their whole operation--attitude, customer service and wine--since jump. Kudos. You won't see a much higher rating for a rose' from me. Yum.

Hammell’s Roses clock in at 15% ABV but you would never know it given the balance and mouth watering flavor profile. Gotta love the labels. Who’s that mysterious ghost like character lurking in the upper right hand corner?
