Ribeira Sacra Mencía

Jose Pastor continues to rock my world for flat-out value. This is a very elegant wine. Crushed berries, earth, spice and black pepper. Floral elements remind me of an old-school Saint Joseph. True delicacy and finesse from a great producer.

Beautiful perfume, freshening acid, minerally frame.

This was a lot bette than anticipated. Bet this could get super interesting in a few years. A bit stanky and I liked it.

Freshly picked mushrooms, barnyard, dried blueberries, roasted steak, cranberry, nice acid. A good pairing wine.

I can't say I know what to think of this but no one else does either.

High-tone.

Pleasant enough but a bit too tart and some reductive flavors. 100% Mencia grape fermented with natural yeast. No oak.

Rose petals. Slate. Bay leaf. Canned cranberry. Mencia...poor man's PN.

Very earthy, almost funky with green olives and peat moss. Not for everyone but definitely interesting.
