Not only the funkiest Chenin of the night - but the only domestic producer as well. Very small production, only 144 cases, and definitely unique on the nose and palate. At 14.1, this is higher abv then I would like from a Chenin. It needed about 2 hours of air before some of the heat dissipated, but once it did, it was beautiful. Complex and rich, wet wool, green apple, vanilla bean, beeswax and honeyed esters. Palate is supple and round, then sweeping acid on the finish. Would like to revisit this after a few more years of development.
