
You wouldn't guess this was a new world wine - clay, soil, cinnamon and black pepper shows up first on the nose. Even the palette is very reserved in the fruit - old red and black berries, and sour to boot - with dusty earth and a bit of green vegetation.

Better than I expected for a South African cab. Heavy on the oak, very peppery, and hints of dark fruits. A little acidic with the after taste.
