Gróf Buttler
Egri Kadarka
Another wine that stumps Delectable (I love this game!). From an important producer in Hungary's Eger region, in the Carpathian Basin (bonus points if you have any idea where that is). Made from the ancient indigenous Kardaka grape, which perhaps predictably is being replanted with international varieties such as Merlot. This cuvee is a very respectable and pleasant fruit-forward red with med-high acidity and very soft tannins (the interwebs say that these wines can deliver harsh tannins in cooler vintages, so let's give credit to the winemaking here). 15% ABV!
