Goose Island
Bourbon County Brand Stout Aged In Bourbon Barrels

Absolutely one of the best I've had of their line up! 2015 was a great brew. Pours like TAR, sweet tobacco, vanilla, caramel, chocolate, dense creamy lusciousness in a bottle. Never had a beer quite as heavy and wonderful as this. I CANNOT WAIT to pop open the coffee BBS and Barley wine BBS. I'm opening up one more, and then aging the 2nd bottle I have for a few more years to see how it changes!

Jan 8th, 2016Unfortunately this was one of the infected batches of Bourbon County. It had the same velvety viscosity and some chocolate/coffee/malty notes but was overwhelmed by the sour notes from the wild yeast. Most likely much boozier than it's labeled 14.5%. Sad.

Jun 11th, 2016Wow, tasted a vertical from 2013 - 2015. 2015 was the best. 2014 OK. 2013 was a little hot for me, but others enjoyed it.

Good lord. Huge flavor, coats your tongue in bourbony maltiness. A little bitter aftertaste, really similar to dark chocolate. Chocolate and vanilla and slightly heavy. The booze hides for something just > 15%. This beer is the bomb.
