Very aromatic, honeyed. Only complaint is that is a little “hot.” (14.4% ABV and you can taste it.)

2014. I'm not as enamored of this wine in 2014 as I have been in years past. The golden straw colored wine has a huge grapefruit and gooseberry nose. It exhibits less of the guava and pineapple nose that I have come to expect from this wine. For me, the acid component is just too much, despite having finished sweet late harvest wine blended in to increase the sugar level. The wine needs food to tame the acid, but it is almost too overpowering for most food. I would try a salty blue cheese with this.

This straw-colored wine exhibited a whiff of grapefruit that blew right away and was immediately followed by honey and pineapple shading to guava, on the palate sweet guava, passionfruit, and brûléed pineapple. About 4% residual sugar with plenty of acid to balance. This is demonstrably Virginia's best white grape.

Not totally dry but it's close as you can get to a dry wine while balancing the huge acidity of the spectacular Petite Manseng grape. The nose shows tropical fruits such as passionfruit, mango and guava with honey and vanilla but the palate has more peachy notes along with spice and vanilla crème brûlée. The finish is pure passion fruit acid. Amazing wine.

Fabulous wine with the amazing tropical fruit that you would expect from Petit Manseng, finished almost dry. One of the best white wines ever made in the state of Virginia.

Dry petit manseng. Tropical fruit and honey, with enough acid to cut it ten years later. Perfect with szechuan.
