Giuseppe Rinaldi
Rinaldi Dolcetto d'Alba

I’m glad I did not taste this blind , no way I would have said dolcetto. This was a beast. On my initial sniff this was somewhat closed, however you knew the fruit was there but it was locked up. It took a good 20 mins in the decanter for the fruit to escape the grip of this wine’s structure. When the fruit was released hints of red cherries and leather reached out. The palate was deeply concentrated, certainly not what I was expecting. Dark plums and leather flavors saturated my mouth along with an acidic streak and vice like tannins.

Black Cherry, Plum, Purple flowers, campfire. A whole different stratosphere for this varietal. Texturally pleasing and plain delicious. R.I.P. Beppe 🙏🏽

Dolcetto at the peak of its greatness. Smells like piedmont and is coming out with deep forest smokey secondary flavours with that signature Rinaldi texture. Thanks James.
