Burgundy in Sicily. Earth and cherries. Really interesting nose. Would buy again!

This producer has been a musician , this wine is nowhere music to me, more like too high on oak , which I dislike. Maybe too young but why hide it away nothing good will appear, drink it, over and done not going back 😩

This wine is not in balance, weird powerhouse from Etna.

XL rosso, quite tannic, rich palate, complex and concentrated. A grand sip to be sure.. I am aware of but inexperienced with Girolamo Russo’s wine—love the anecdote he was once a concert pianist! Same with the San Lorenzo contrada, although I read it is on the northernmost edge of the doc with a special concentration of volcanic ash in the soil… def taste the earth + typical etna fruit flavors, but one less expected note from a fellow delectable user resonated with us here: quinine!
