Mendoza Malbec

Bad Malbec, bad Malbec! Not bad, just not good or even ok.

Really good deal, really good price. Fruit and berries.

Smooth, with spice but not overpowering.

Good flavor, goes well with red meat. Not the best Malbec, but not bad for a $9 red.

Good value for a simple, straightforward red. Good berry fruit with some pleasant spice and, happily, no over-influence of oak. Nice wine for a barbecue

Cool label (I'm a sucker for those). Light spice, big fruit, could possibly use a bit more time. Opened up nicely.

Surprisingly interesting for a Malbec. Strong tannins with solid acidity to match; bramble and black raspberries and blackberries, with notes of bacon fat. Slight chalkiness and berries have a short finish, probably would do well with a few years of cellaring. Overall very well done

Spice and cherry nose. Tannic cherry and hint of tobacco on the tongue. Nice!

Dumped it in w some other I didn’t like for mulling - proves the rule that if there is some kind of picture on the label it won’t be good
