Les Marelles Crozes Hermitage White Rhone Blend
A little flabby. Uni, stones, baked lemon rind. Charred orange. Dead, dead flowers. Not my favorite.

Apr 2nd, 2022Tremendously fresh, excellent balance of weight, texture and acidity. Stone fruit, subtle tropical character and lovely mineral flourish.

Jan 19th, 2014Solid, I just don't think the Rhone is my g spot for much beyond N reds. Looking forward to trying the 2012...

Jul 18th, 2013Ovenbird w M and Ritchie. Ripe and rich. Paired well with the ankimo.
60% Roussanne, 40% Marsanne. Organic. Marsanne was aged in oak and the Roussanne in stainless steel. Tank sample.
Tasted blind. Subtle nose with a waxy honeyed note. A tropical note to the ripe palate, which is opulent and has a honeycomb creamy buttery finish. Nice weight and just enough acidity to balance the richness. 2019, JR16
A 60-40 blend of Roussanne and Marsanne, respectively, the 2019 Crozes Hermitage Blanc les Marelles is a bit brassy in hue, with scents of poached pear and ripe melon. The Marsanne component is aged in wood, so there's a bit of cinnamon-clove spice as well. Medium to full-bodied, it's round and expansive in the mouth, then finishes on a note of crushed stone. I'd opt for drinking this young. 2019, RP88

I don't know why but I'm getting pineapple. Not sweet to me but aromatic and rich. Really complements a roast chicken and Brussels sprouts. Ah. White Rhone Summer is here.
