Gilbert Cellars
Columbia Valley Syrah
On the earthier side, but well balanced by a strong thread of stone fruit, pepper, and a smooth tannic grip. Yum!

Oct 22nd, 2016A bit too smoky for my taste, this wine still delivers on the fruit.

Jul 12th, 2016Pretty smoky and meaty with some savory spices mixed into the black cherry, currant and plum fruits. Enjoyable, but not jaw dropping.

Oct 28th, 2016Good #columbiavalley Syrah. Aromatic and dark with blackberries, coffee, chocolate, and some peppery spice with a hint of salinity. Dark fruit and black pepper carry through to the palate but is a little less defined than prior vintage and finish is a little hot. Still one of my go -to favorites from my favorite local winery.

Feb 14th, 2016Fantastic Syrah. Gilbert Cellars consistently makes one of my favorite Syrahs in Washington and the 2012 is my favorite one so far.
The nose is fantastic. Lots of coffee and chocolate notes along with brambly dark fruit and toasted bread and a hint of campfire. The nose alone is amazing but the palate is equally impressive with luscious dark fruit and spice. Well balanced full body with a solid tannin structure. Overall, one of my favorite Syrahs out there for the price ($30 at the tasting room).
