The rating is for the wine and its character, rather than how much I enjoyed drinking it - a glass is enough. Aromas and flavours of treacle pudding, blueberry cheesecake, raspberry conserve and fruitcake. But at its core is remarkable freshness, like blueberries/raspberries bursting on the palate. All the concentration of vines planted in the first decade of the 1900s, length is impressive and the high alcohol well balanced.
