Totally closed out of the bottle. Decanted and started to show after 45 min. Very full bodied with tannin acid and alcohol maxed out. Beautiful dried fruit profile with fig, dark cherry and prune. Spice and definite oak aromas on the nose. Very lingering finish of tar, acid, tannin and the heat. Not a restrained example but undeniably delicious and great with food.

Without a question, the darkest Barolo I've ever had. Deep dark red, with a rim that's beginning to turn. Cherry tobacco, chocolate. Very firm tannins, 15% ABV, 2010.... I bet this could lay down to sleep for a long long time.

Day 2... evolved over dinner last night. Now opening up with aroma of violets, cherry pie, leather, tar, and clove. Masculine style. Rich and juicy with a bold tannin backbone which shows on the mid-palate. Dark berry and cherry fruit, layered with toasty oak and vanilla shine as well. Plenty of structure to go 10+ more years. Pair with fatty meats.

Great acidity. Licorice nose. Still has good years ahead of it.

Super bowl wine. Powerful anise/licorice with rose and violet in the background. Big juicy black cherries and chewy and tannins but still enjoyable at this point. Needs time or plenty of air.
