Cerretta Barbera d'Alba

Newish vineyard site for Conterno. A little more accessible in its youth than the acclaimed Cascina Francia. Come get it at Prato.

A bit restricted and uptight on the nose, the palate had darker fruits than the 2010 Serralunga d'Alba. Acid level was still there as expected.

Out of magnum! Fresh, young, scrumptious. All primary, of course.

Youthful and yummy

Juicy acidic with great fruit forwardness. Didn’t quite have the dark cherry profile I was expecting. Was much lighter and didn’t hold up to steak. Enjoyable nonetheless.

Winner, hands down!

Needed some air but beautiful after it evolved a bit.

This is pretty big time at 15% in 2011. Brambly liqueur dark lavender and spice. Very good but vintage evident.
